I don’t think we do too much on Center Caps, so let me do a little something for it.
A Center Cap is “a decorative disk on an automobile wheel that covers a central portion of the wheel” – according to Wikipedia. The really early Center Caps were about three inches in diameter & were made to keep dirt away from the spindle nut and wheel bearings of vehicles.
Just remember that Hubcaps & Center Caps are totally different things. Let’s take Hyundai Accent Hubcaps & Hyundai Center Caps as an example; for one, the Center Caps are much smaller and they don’t cover the whole Steel Wheel like the Hubcaps do.
