Like a lot of different German manufacturers before WWII, the Auto Union plants were redesigned and retooled for military production. They were a target for allied bombing during the war, leaving them damaged.
So there were no Audi Hubcaps or Audi Center Caps being made at that time – no matter how bad a driver needed them.
The Audi Factory that was in Zwickau had restarted the assembly of different pre-war-models in 1949 after the remains of that same plant became the VEB (for “People Owned Enterprise”) Automobilwerk Zwickau or AWZ (in English: Automobile Works Zwickau). The DKW models that it made were renamed to IFA F8 and IFA F9 and were pretty similar to the West German versions. Regardless of what model it is, Hubcaps.com has the Audi Hubcaps that you need & we’ll sell them to you with a smile (:
I wonder if those had Audi Hubcaps on them?
