Do you ever wonder what your Chrysler Hubcap and tire drives on? Well the road is called asphalt.
Easy enough, right?
It’s a pretty thick black/brown substance that’s made from the same crude oil that makes kerosene, gas, & vinyl. I can guarantee you that the asphalt for roads is literally scraped from the bottom of the barrel after all other petroleum-based products have either been refined or processed.
The reason why it’s so black is because it’s made up of at least 80% carbon. You can find asphalt on the street, some roofs, airport runways, and even some playgrounds. You may find some Chrysler Wheel Covers on it, too.
